In 2002 work began on the restoration of the estate and, in particular, the vineyards, with the objective of once more establishing Villa Saletta as a leading wine estate. To date 20 hectares of vines have been planted in nine separate vineyards.

A decision was made from the outset to produce top quality wines. This necessitates attention to detail at every stage of the process. The restoration of the vineyards has taken place under the watchful eye of master winemaker, Jonathan Rodwell.

Each of the nine Villa Saletta vineyards has its own specific soil and climate resulting in nine separate and distinct “terroirs”. Jonathan has tailored the grape growing accordingly, with the result that each vineyard has its own unique character.

The grapes from each vineyard are then harvested in small pickings - as many as 30 across the nine vineyards. By hand picking and sorting it is possible to divide and respect every nuance which each particular vineyard reflects in its grapes.
